R is for Ruby Red

This is what I wore on my second day in New York! It was a jam-packed day :D I wore my gray stripey tights, my red skirt, and my beloved Spice Girls concert t-shirt! And my black beret, of course ;)

Our first stop was the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was great... BUT The Costume Institute was "temporarily closed." Pah! I bought a book with its top 100 dresses to try to make up for it, haha. In the above picture I'm in the Ancient Egypt exhibit, where they have a reassembled Egyptian tomb, the Temple of Dendur!

This is a big sarcophagus.

Billy and I got breakfast at the Met! I had a croissant and he had a bagel, and we split and orange brioche! We also had really expensive orange juice ;)

Next, we went to the Jewish Museum. It was really interesting! They had an amazing collection of menorahs from around the world. They also had an exhibit on Houdini, with this funny photo-op place that was in a busy hallway, so it was really hard to take the "opportunity!" Ha!

We walked back to our hotel through Central Park. If I look freezing, it's because I was! The second day was MUCH colder than the first. Heh, you can see my frozen legs trying to match my skirt!

That evening, we went to a Broadway show: La Cage aux Folles! It was amazing, so funny, but also an emotional roller-coaster! Jeffrey Tambor and Harvey Feinstein starred, playing a couple struggling with their son's decision to get married to a girl whose father is intensely conservative, and the son's request to have Albin (a drag queen) go away when his fiance's family visits. So good!
I wore this one-shouldered dress with metallic stuff under a drapey black cardigan, with a black-and-gold belt and my black lace-up booties :)

Stay tuned for days three and four!

Happy dressing :)
