Denim & Sunshine

These pictures are actually pretty old... I'm still way behind in posting! Almost two months behind :/ Still, I'd wear this outfit (minus the tights) any day! I paired my dark wash denim shirt with my yellow linen skirt, and wore my neutral-coloured platform clogs :)

I also wore my silver leather jacket! Of course, haha ;)

Just a quick post today. Can't wait for Big Brother tonight!

Summer always makes me feel nostalgic, especially during lazy afternoons spent in my bedroom at my parents' house. A previous owner finished the attic to look like a treehouse, and he used the space as a workshop for his model trains. The room really does look like a treehouse, all finished in wood with big windows out of which you can see the tops of the trees! It's a very special room, And I have so many great memories of time spent up there.

The attic became my bedroom when I was fifteen, after my friends and I started having sleepovers up there. My parents suggested it, and I was thrilled as I had never considered it to be a possibility! It made for a very cool bedroom, with the slanted ceilings and the floor pillows my mom made for "hanging out." There was all kinds of space for people to sleep over, and on any given weekend I had at least four people staying the night!

When I returned to my hometown to attend university (after a couple of years at another school), the attic became mine again -- this time to be shared with Billy! We've really made it our own, and I'm sure we've benefitted from the energy of such a cool space. I'm going to miss it when we move out :) I'm going to do a post soon with pictures of the room, something I've been meaning to do for ages!

On to the outfit! This was an outfit that came together when the pale green blouse and the mosaic-printed tennis skirt were hanging next to each other. They looked so great that I had to combine them! I chose all-black accent pieces, opting for some print-mixing with my striped tights and patent belt, and my black cardigan.

I wore my patent crossover heels, and my multistrand pearl necklace, which unfortunately I didn't get a picture of! D'oh ;)

In other fun news, I've just recently discovered ohhhhh my goodness. I've been working through the Fall ready-to-wear collections, and I'm so excited!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and happy belated Canada Day to my country-bloggers! Happy 4th of July (tomorrow) to my American friends tomorrow too :D
